Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated October 28, 2026
Use Mocha for your own work, respect other people, and do not use it to break the law or attack systems.
1. General
This policy is part of the Terms of Service. It applies to everything you do with Mocha, including messages, uploaded knowledge, connected service actions, and scheduled workflows.
2. Prohibited conduct
You may not use Mocha to:
- break any law or regulation;
- infringe copyright, trademark, or other rights;
- harass, threaten, defame, or promote hate or violence against any person or group;
- violate privacy, including collecting or sharing someone’s personal information without permission;
- distribute malware, phishing, or fraudulent content;
- gain unauthorised access to systems, accounts, or data, or probe for vulnerabilities without permission;
- interfere with the service, overload it, scrape it, or bypass usage limits and rate controls;
- reverse engineer or copy the service except where the law expressly allows;
- resell, sublicense, or automate access to the service without our permission;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
3. Connected services
- Only connect accounts you are authorised to use, and only access data you are permitted to access.
- Do not use a connected service in a way that breaks that provider’s terms.
- Enable write access only when you intend to let the assistant propose changes, and review each approval before it runs.
4. High-risk uses
Mocha is not designed for decisions that can cause serious harm. Do not rely on it, without qualified human review, for medical, legal, financial, safety-critical, or similarly high-risk decisions, or to make automated decisions about people that have legal or significant effects.
5. AI-specific limits
Do not use Mocha to generate disinformation, sexual content involving minors, instructions for serious harm, or other content that violates this policy or the law.
6. Enforcement
We may remove content, suspend features, or end your access if we reasonably believe you have violated this policy, the Terms of Service, or the law. Where appropriate, we may report conduct to the relevant authorities.
7. Reporting
Report abuse or a security concern to joeulam@bu.edu. Include enough detail for us to investigate.
